I created this design right after working on the Amiri Records Hoodie because I really enjoyed the old-school jazz theme and felt it was a perfect fit for an Amiri piece. For this one, I wanted to take it in the direction of a vintage screen print aesthetic.

I started by designing the Amiri trumpet logo, first creating the logotype in Adobe Illustrator, then enhancing it in Firefly, and finally applying the threshold effect in Photoshop to achieve the desired look. I experimented a lot with typography and different imagery, and I’m really happy with how it turned out in the end.
