For the Ron-Robert Zieler Thank You Design, I created a piece to honor his time at Hannover 96 after his transfer to 1. FC Köln. Zieler has always been one of my favorite goalkeepers since I started following football, and as a former goalkeeper myself, this project held personal significance. The design features a collage of images from his years at the club, highlighting key moments throughout his career. With 382 official appearances for the team, making him the 6th most capped player in the club’s history, the design celebrates his dedication and contributions.
The overall style of the design is inspired by US college aesthetics, blended with scrapbook elements like small photos held together with tape strips and hand-drawn marks and borders. I also incorporated a timeline, showcasing the years he spent at the club, adding a dynamic element to the piece. This visual storytelling approach not only highlights Zieler’s remarkable career but also adds a personal touch to the tribute, reflecting both his legacy and the emotional connection fans have with him.
